Unfortunatelly, skin tone prejudice is still widespread and practised openly across India. It is partly a product of colonial prejudices, and it has been aggravated by caste, regional differences and Bollywood, the nation’s film industry, which has long promoted fair-skinned actors and actresses.
Skin colour determines the very quality of your life and the availability of opportunities right from jobs to marriage prospects. This is the reality of so many people’s lives in this country.
